Evangelion 1.0/Astroboy Showtimes

"This episode is -hilarious-. I also hope you enjoy our terrible puns (except the "well enough" one, there was the Japanese equivalent of cockney rhyming slang there and @#%$ if I can make the equivalent of that in English)."

We now have showtimes for Evangelion 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone, showing this coming weekend at the Melwood Screening Room.
Friday: 8 pm Saturday: 6 pm, 8 pm Sunday: 6 pm, 8 pm
Directions can be found here; as I said, you walk straight up Craig Street and do a quick jump over a block, then keep going.
Since it sounded like Sunday was the preferred day when we talked about this at the last meeting, we can probably go ahead and defer picking a time until then. I should also be able to schedule Astroboy earlier on that day for anyone who cares to see both.
EDIT: The plan for Astroboy is currently Sunday at 1 PM at the Showcase West at Robinson Town Center, assuming Yahoo! Movies doesn't lie. Given that I saw a cutout promo for Astroboy there when I went to see Eureka 7, I assume that's the place. As with last time, the 28X is your bus of choice.[/b]

I downloaded episode 1 of Hetalia from the library but the sound doesn't work. Anyone know how to fix it, or where I can get a copy with working sound?
|
Sound works fine for me. It's using the Ogg-Vorbis codec for sound--one of the most open-source, free-as-in-speech codecs out there. That means Microsoft hates it. If you're using Windows Media Player out of the box, it might not support Vorbis.
Anyway, you might try a different player. Your best bet is probably the media player classic that comes with the Combined Community Codec Pack. I believe that's what Dan uses for our meetings.
And hmm...I just realized that the first few episodes of hetalia on our site are from last semester...when only the webcast was available...I should really be replacing those files with the dvd versions anyway...

Oh noes! I go out of town for the long weekend and I miss the special surprise! Is Puchi Eva going on the website? Pleeease?
|
The first file--the first 9 episodes--is in the library now. We also watched the first three episodes of a second part...I'd be happy to post it if somebody would send it to me.

In the meantime, I'm marathoning Darker Than Black, since it has been recommended by a few people recently, I hope to have that done before the weekend is up and I get bogged down in homework (and computer games) again.
Also, you can add me to the "interested members" list. Email is dmbrown@andrew.
