Welcome to Vermillion!

We are the anime club of CMU. Our goal is to promote the appreciation of Japanese animation.

We meet on Saturdays from 7:00pm to approximately 11:00pm in Margaret Morrison MM 103. If you get there first before a meeting and the door is locked, call campus police at (412) 268-6232 and ask them to unlock it. Our schedule is here. Our objectives are here.

Figured I should probably ask -- who's actually around from Saturday on? Seems like there aren't as many people here for the summer as there were last year.

Also, Patrick, do we have the room over the summer? And if so, do you have a link to some documentation I or anyone still around could procure if campus police ask if we're supposed to be there?

We've got MM 103 tomorrow, but I'm still trying to arrange rooms for the rest of the summer. I'll post the rooms for the rest of the summer as soon as I can.

Also, I'll be in Nebraska until August. Can you handle club events during the summer?

ALRIGHT TOONAMI IS BACK...but what does this mean? Will they only show old show such as DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, and all the Gundam series? If that's the case, then I think that this decision was really just a large case of nostalgia. Second, Toonami is back yet we look at us what do we normally watch anime on? The inter-ma-webs.

You've pretty much stated my position for me. Any anime I care to see I watch as it comes out in Japan, almost all of it via legal stream. And given what little other content I care to watch, the value I assign to pay-cable is strictly less than what companies want to charge me for it. This is why I didn't care about missing the April Fools run and don't care that they're bringing the brand back.

If this was going to tick off a new anime boom in the states, then I'd be a little more positive, but I don't see that happening. If all they're doing is making it a sub-block or offshoot of Adult Swim, then they're not going to bring in much fresh blood. The Adult Swimmers of today were the Toonami kids ten years ago. Maybe they see a slight bump from people who gravitated away, but overall I don't see this bringing in a significant new audience.

Ill be in the area, so I was figuring on swinging by.
As for the Toonami thing, Glad to hear it. Will be interesting to see what lineup they introduce.

Then Again, I don't mind watching anime. In fact, it will be very refreshing to watch it on TV. What do you guys think?

Man, I don't even have cable...comcast is obscenely expensive for TV.
