Welcome to the world created by Vermillion, where the kingdom of Ihmunat makes its home. In our world, biological engineering comes almost as second nature - but primitive communication systems have left mankind divided into many independent city-states similar to Ihmunat. What makes Ihmunat worth writing a visual novel about? ...Its prince doesn't want to become king. ...And his best friend is an Artificial Intelligence, gifted with the unimaginable power called the Nexus. ...A power which she used, against her will, to murder his entire family.

With that in mind, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Carl Doersch; I've been writing Ihmunat up to this point. I've enjoyed writing fiction for years, but this is my first time working on a project of this scale ( pages already...). Apphia Yu and Cheng-Chieh Yen have been working on the artwork. I think there are other people involved too, but it's not like I have any idea what's going on...I just write (and maintain the website).

For those of you who don't know, you can think of a Visual Novel as a sort of combination between a novel and a video game, with anime characters as an added bonus. People usually play a Visual Novel on a computer or video game system; a window appears with animated images in the background (to indicate the setting and the characters in the dialog) and text in the foreground (to advance the plot). As the story is electronic, they may also have decision points where players choices determine the outcome of the game. It really is a unique medium, and (we think) it's unfortunate that it isn't more popular in the US.
